About the West School PTC

The Objective of the PTC is to create and maintain an active working relationship among parents, teachers and the administration so that each may contribute effectively to the education and welfare of the children; to keep parents informed of the programs and policies of the school; to promote a continuing exchange of ideas and information among parents, teachers, the administration and the community; and to raise funds to enhance the educational goals of the school.

The West School PTC works closely with the school administration to develop and run several programs and events that enrich the school experience for every child.  The PTC also donates funds to the school for the purchase of classroom and outdoor resources such as recess equipment, kinesthetic classroom furniture, STEM games/activities, support for School Climate initiatives, and many, many more.  Refer to the Fundraising page here for more details.  Funds for all of these programs come from the PTC's fundraising activities including the Silent Auction, Dance-a-Thon, Family Photo Days, Spirit Wear sales and Book Fair.  The PTC also holds several social events and parent education programs throughout the year which build a sense of community within the school and its families.  These include Fall Family Fun Night, Spring Art Show and Family Social, Incoming Kindergarten Bike Rodeo and Play dates, General PTC coffee/meetings with parent education speakers, and many more.

The PTC could not provide all of the programs, events and improvements without the support of the thousands of volunteer hours and strong financial support of the West School families!
